Blast from the Past. 2nd November 2003 Mighty Flynn nets Mallow hat trick in away win over Hibernian Mallow raiders too hot for Shanbally hosts FAI JUNIOR CUP Hibernian 1 Mallow Celtic 3 Mallow Celtic put their unbeaten run on the line at Shanbally on Sunday morning and home side Hibernian were unable to derail Mick Conroy’s charges as the visitors defeated their higher-ranked opponents 3-1 in the Statoil FAI Junior Cup. Home exit for Hibs Derek Flynn was a hat trick hero for the winners and he had able suppliers in Denis Carey and Jason Flynn. Keeper Peter Carroll also impressed as Celtic advanced. Hibs, under new manager Barry McGovern for the first time, had promising displays by Jason McGroarty, Tim Creedon and Jonathan Murphy. Hibs forward Jason McGroaty tries an overhead kick Flynn began his hat trick in the 35 th minute.
