AUL TABLES
REVIEW FROM TONIGHT’S GAMES.
Premier: Tonight’s big result was of course Leeside’s defeat at the hands of Park United.
It just goes to show that teams fighting for their lives near the bottom are equally as difficult to beat as those going for honours.
A late goal by Derek McCarthy sealed the three points for Kinsale in their 1-0 win at home to Coachford as they concentrate their efforts on biting into their backlog of league games.
Wilton’s comfortable 5-0 win at home to Ballyvolane establishes them in second spot – 7 points behind Leeside but with two games in hand.
Blarney Street’s 4-0 win over Grattan puts them comfortably into third spot with 7 points adrift of the leaders after the same amount of games – 12.
So now, this makes next Saturday’s game between Kinsale and Leeside very interesting indeed.
We could see some fascinating stuff here yet over the next few weeks.
Premier A: Bohemians are starting to show obvious signs of falling off the pace after suffering a severe 6-0 defeat at the hands of one of the favourites for the Premier A title – Killumney.
And what about Castleview’s 8-3 victory over strugglers Village United. The View have certainly upped their game over the last couple of weeks.
Look at the battle in 3A now.
Apart from Buttevant B who could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Los Zarcos, all the big guns won tonight as can be seen from the results.
Here’s a fresh look at the top three in this section after tonight’s results.
Ballinhassig played 20 Pts 44
Ballincollig played 19 Pts 38
Newmarket Played 17 Pts 35
