Passage Powerhouse Crushes Douglas Hall in U17 Cup Clash

Passage stormed into the last eight of the AUL U17 League Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory over Douglas Hall. The Harbourside outfit, inspired by a dazzling display from Man of the Match Gary McCarthy, proved too strong for their opponents.

A moment of brilliance from Simon McGarry set up the first goal, as his cross found McCarthy in the box to fire home. The goal seemed to galvanise Passage, and just minutes later, they doubled their lead. Another McGarry assist found Larry Lee, who unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner,
an unstoppable 30-yard shot that swerved and dipped, so packed with power that most adult keepers would have been beaten every bit as comprehensively as was young O'Sullivan.

McCarthy completed his brace in the 64th minute, finishing a flowing move with a clinical finish. The game was effectively over, but Passage weren't done yet. Lee turned provider again, setting up McCarthy for his hat-trick with a pinpoint cross.

Douglas Hall Fight in Vain

Despite the scoreline, Douglas Hall battled bravely throughout the game. Defender Mark Irwin was a standout performer, making several crucial blocks and interceptions. However, Passage's attacking prowess proved too much to handle on the day.

A Day to Remember for Passage

Gary McCarthy's hat-trick was the highlight but the entire Passage team played their part in a dominant performance. The victory sets them up nicely for the quarter-finals, where they hope to continue their impressive form.
